Back to school safely
Children and young people are set to return to early years settings, schools and colleges, following their summer breaks. Here are some of the key changes for pupils, staff and visitors:
Face coverings: are no longer routinely advised for pupils or staff in schools, although are still recommended in crowded spaces such as schools buses and on public transport.
Self- isolation: under-18s who are named as close contacts will be asked to take a PCR test, rather than self-isolate.
Testing: all secondary-school pupils will be invited to take two lateral-flow swab tests at school – three to five days apart.
Vaccinations:
All young people aged 16-17 can now book their COVID-19 vaccination at one of the upcoming dedicated walk-in clinics listed below. Please share these dates and times with young people within this age group. Appointments can be booked by calling 020 3770 1888 or e-mailing info@healthbridgedirect.co.uk
- Wednesday 1 September 8am – 1pm, Fulwell Cross Medical Centre – offering Pfizer vaccines 16-17 year olds only
- Thursday 2 September 8am – 1pm, Fulwell Cross Medical Centre – offering Pfizer vaccines 16-17 year olds only
- Thursday 2 September 5pm – 8.30pm, Redbridge Town Hall – offering 1st and 2nd dose Pfizer vaccines 16-17 year olds only
- Saturday 4 September 5pm – 8.30pm, Redbridge Town Hall – offering 1st and 2nd dose Pfizer vaccines 16-17 year olds only
